Technical Expertise & Early Career

Joel’s career began with an intensive eight-year foundational period, serving four years as a Learner Official (Underground) followed by four years specializing in opencast blasting for coal and hard rock. A holder of a Civil Blasting Ticket, he spent 18 years as a specialized blasting contractor. His technical proficiency encompasses all blasting disciplines, including high-complexity demolition projects.

Strategic Leadership Record

Throughout his career, Joel has transitioned from technical specialist to senior management, holding several legally responsible appointments. Leveraging this extensive technical and regulatory foundation, Joel now spearheads JN Contract Mining as the Managing Director, he oversees the initiation and strategic management of large-scale contract mining projects. His leadership is defined by a rigorous adherence to safety standards, disciplined production cycles, and the delivery of consistent, high-yield results for stakeholders.

Nazmeera Latiff- Director

Nazmeera Latiff is a seasoned executive with over two decades of multifaceted experience in financial management, human capital governance, and operational costing. Since commencing her career in the banking and financial services sector in 2001, she has developed a robust expertise in financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of structured financial frameworks.

Upon transitioning into the mining industry, Nazmeera distinguished herself by bridging the gap between administrative oversight and on-site technical operations. Her background is unique for its "in-pit" practical exposure, working alongside technical mining professionals to gain a granular understanding of production cycles and resource allocation. This hands-on experience ensures that her financial and human resource strategies are grounded in the actual demands of mining environments.

As Director of JN Contract Mining, Nazmeera oversees the company’s internal controls, payroll systems, and strategic costing models. Her ability to synthesize high-level financial data with operational realities allows the organization to maintain:

Theo Jacobs- Board Member

Theo Jacobs is a highly accomplished mining leader with 42 years of industry experience, beginning his career as a learner official at JCI Mining. After gaining a comprehensive technical foundation across all mining departments, including roles as Shift Boss and Mine Overseer, he transitioned into opencast mining, where he has specialized for the past 27 years. As a former Blasting Manager, Site Manager, and Mine Manager, Theo possesses a deep understanding of blasting, planning, and day-to-day operations. His career is distinguished by his ability to lead diverse opencast projects from greenfield establishment through to successful closure.
